This will be the first amharic letter we will learn.

Looking at the table above, the first row shows 7 different Amharic letter characters. And the second row shows how to pronounce those letters in the first row.

On every lesson we will have a table like shown above; the 7 Amharic letters in the first row and pronounciation in the second row. After completing a few lessons, you won't eventually need the pronounciation, because you will have understood how the Amharic alphabet works. I will continue showing the table though.

ቡ (Boo)
ቢ (Bee)
ባ (Baa) - like BAsket
ቤ (Bae)
ብ (Bih)
ቦ (Bo) - like boat
